I have a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UW-La Crosse. I graduated in the spring of 2012. I was an on campus tutor and I tutored math from pre-algebra through Calculus II. I also have privately tutored algebra, pre-calc and AP Calculus. I have worked with students grade 5 all the way through the college level. I spent time volunteer tutoring in 2013 at the elementary/middle school I attended.
I think it's very valuable to try different tutoring methods to see what works best with the student. I'm very open to adapting to the student's needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I love working and teaching with all children, I have found many of my out-of-the classroom responsibilities to be just as rewarding as teaching in the classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

I don't have a wide teaching experience but I do enjoy working and helping Elementary or junior high leveled children. Ay my most recent job, I worked in a dept called 'PLAYLAND" where I was responsible for taking care and keeping the children of our customers entertained and busy as their parent's shopped for groceries. I believe that applications to everyday life should be stressed if a tutor/teacher is to pique the interest of their student(s). Rather than stressing rote memorization, I believe it is more important to relate overall concepts in a "partnering" style. It is important to remember that one of the cornerstones of teaching is making the subject matter interesting and relevant to the student's experiences. I believe it is also important to focus on a student's strengths rather than their weaknesses. As in many areas of life, teaching also requires patience.
