A Little Bit About Me...

I love to learn and help others to learn. Different people learn differently; therefore, I present material in a number of ways until I discover how the tutee learns. I am a fall graduate from Troy University and will be graduating with honors. I am currently a peer tutor at Troy in biology and math (algebra). A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a Bachelor's in English from Troy University Dothan in December 2009. Since I opted for a Bachelor's in English rather than a Bachelor's in Secondary English Education, I took more writing and literature classes. In all of my English Literature classes, I had numerous writing assignments that helped me learn how to write. I also took writing and grammar classes which helped improve my writing skills tremendously. I tutored when I was in Jr. High School. The student I tutored was learning how to read. I enjoyed the challenge of teaching him to read. I have also taught Sunday School at various age levels.

In class, I prefer a relaxed atmosphere, with emphasis on each student as a person, not inferior to the teacher, just not as yet knowledgeable enough to teach the subject at hand. In life, these students under my care at the moment may be wiser than I am in many ways regarding many things, but in the classroom where I am the instructor, I am the one in charge. Respect for the teacher and respect for the student is vital in having a well organized classroom, but a friendly atmosphere is just as vital to the learning process.
