The most important aspect of education that I have learned is that it is not about teachers making a difference; it is about helping students make a difference. I graduated from Liberty University in May 2009 with a BS in Accounting. I am currently and have been a substitute teacher in Bedford County for the 2009-2010 school year. I have substituted for grades 6-12. I have been a football coach at Liberty High School for 3 years and I have been a track & field coach at Liberty High School for 5 years. I have been blessed with professors at the university level who understand the importance of one-on-one instruction. Through the "creativity" of thoughtful instructors I have seen myself grow and develop in ways that I hadn't thought possible. Every student learns differently, and once the instructor gets to know the student well enough and is able to tailor their lessons to the needs of the student, true learning happens. As a substitute teacher, I worked on developing a good rapport with the students. And was always willing to assist them in working towards understanding the concepts before them. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children in a variety of settings for ten years. I worked in a preschool for 3 years and did an internship for four months as well as student teaching for sixteen weeks my senior year of college. I graduated Suma Cum Laude and then worked as a long term substitute in Roanoke City Schools. I then taught for one year in Roanoke City schools in a general education classroom. I am currently working as an instructional assistant.
