A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Elementary Education. I have had many years caring for children and have three years experience tutoring/teaching children. From these experiences I have been able to grow as a teacher and therefore help my students grow and learn more in depth concepts.
I believe all children can learn but they each need to learn in a way that fits them. I feel that I can provide each child with the necessary curriculum knowledge in a fun and engaging way. I believe that through discovery leaning each subject is made unique and interesting and children are more likely to walk away feeling engaged, proud of their work, and excited. I believe that each and every child can excel if they have a good educator behind them. I strive to make sure that each one of my students succeeds inside and outside of the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student at Argosy University in Seattle, I currently hold a 3.55 GPA. My strengths are in grammatical structure, spelling, essay and research writing, and creative writing. My Bachelor's degree is in psychology and I am currently working toward my Master's degree in counseling psychology. Through this work I have become proficient in speech writing, research presentations and public speech and research and essay writing. My approach is to incorporate multiple learning styles (visual, auditory and so on). I also like to incorporate skills training as part of a scenario when possible. Using techniques like appropriate background music, brief stretch breaks, having the children read to Sierra, my golden retriever, are all techniques that I would like to use. Teaching children would be a joy and very rewarding. I had trouble learning to read when I was young until I attended Mrs. Bird's class. She took the time to meet with me one-on-one and taught me to read and changed my life in the process. Seeing adult learners’ eyes light up when they "get it" have been some of the best times in my career. I would love to see that light in a child's eyes too.
