I think people automatically freeze up when they hear the word "chemistry". They are afraid of the math and theories and just the reputation chemistry has. People have had terrible teachers who had forced them to memorize things and focused on just naming compounds and a lot of the time they have not been exposed to true chemistry and how much fun it can be. I like to take chemistry and use visual presentations, real examples, and combine many methods in order to convey the material.
