My BS is in education.My MS in business. Also, over 100 hours from other shchols including Algebra, trig, chemistry and physics. Ten years helping adults pass the GED in Jefferson CIty, Missouri, Also taught American history there for two summers. Some substitute teaching over a dozen years. Four years nine months experirnce teaching felons to pass the GED in a level five correctional facility, part time, after working an eight hour shift in a chemical lad. Have vo;unteered in alternative schol in Brevard county.
Socratic method involvig the students in the lecture and learning process. Adult education is done mostly one on one. Even at the prison I moved about the room working with students and keeping them on task.

It is very important for me that each student can understand what I'm explaning, this is why I use different types of methods to help them visualize and understand my explanations. For each student I used to prepare sketches, brainstorms and flashcards. When it comes to math or sciences courses I had a white board for the equations. Also, I use, as examples and comparisons, things that they do frequently for better and fast comprehension and understanding.

I do not have one teaching style. Just as people have individual learning styles, I adapt my teaching style to the student and to the course that I would be tutoring. It is important that all students graduate with all the knowledge, skills, abilities, and values to have a happy and productive life. In order to have this happen, I do not believe that one teaching style fits all. As a tutor I would show my students how to properly do a task, and then I will help them master the task. It is important the student understand and can independently demonstrate what they have learned.
