Chess for fun and chess for blood

I have tutored children and adults for 20 years in the Denver area. At the scholastic level my students improved by a minimum of one full class ranking(average 200 elo rating points). Adult students who wish to enter tournaments will receive training based on an emphasis in tactics and combinational play. This is the heart of chess. An addition of psychological preparation for the tournament will improve results as the normal pressures of competition can ruin many players form.
As a chess player for over 40 years I understand the importance of connecting with each person on an individual level to compliment the personality as it is expressed on the chess board.

Since the school is only 5 blocks from the Capitol building and a multitude of museums and libraries, I was able to tutor a few students from the school in a real-world environment. I have a secondary endorsement in mathematics, and my 24+ credit hours in science allow me to teach general science in Colorado. A Little Bit About Me...

During college I worked for NMSU and CYFD providing two types of tutoring services. With NMSU I worked with fellow college students in classes that I previously passed, which mainly included Accounting and Math. With CYFD I worked with young mothers trying to obtaining their GED. I helped create good study habits and tutored them in all areas included in the GED; Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, and Science. While in college I took several communication classes which had presentations in front of 100 or more students. I took intermediate algebra along with statistics and business calculus.
