Everyone is an artist.

I have been teaching for the past two years in the art field and related. I taught at TIC Summer camp in the summer of 2012 how to use the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.). I am currently working with an after school program that teaches children between the ages of 6 and 12 what goes behind videogame creation.
I use a personalized and 'hands-off'/demonstration style of teaching. I dislike telling a student that there is a certain method they should use, instead preferring to suggest and show how I would approach a problem or get them to approach a problem differently than how they are at that moment.

Graphic Designers are creative problem solvers.

I am all about a hands on learning experience. I have the student take thorough notes about the programs I teach so they can go back and learn on their own. Graphic design is all about problem solving so I challenge my students to figure out the solution in a creative way where they will retain the information.
I have been a Graphic Designer since 2008 specializing in Print Media. I have an expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop. I work full time as a Graphic Designer and Part Time as an after school Elementary Art instructor (teaching drawing and cartooning). Art is my passion. Dedicated, patient, caring and knowledgeable are all the characteristcs that I would want in a tutor. Those are definitely characteristics that describe me. I have worked with children for the past 12 years in settings from private, public and special needs population. I enjoy working with children and teaching. I believe in providing a positive and comfortable setting for children to learn and in that setting students can reach their full potential.

A Little Bit About Me...

It has always been a passion of mine to work with and educate young children and youth. I began tutoring at a Elementary School for a few hours when I was in high school as well as assisted other children with math and reading on an as needed basis. When I was away at undergrad school, I was able to work with local Elementary children, but it was not on a consistent basis. Once I graduated from Undergrad, I returned home and began tutoring with my church and volunteered to work with the Sr. Youth Ministry as well. During this time period I also worked with two different tutoring companies.
My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time.
