My comments on tutoring Life Science : I hold a Ph.D in a Life Science discipline.

I believe that stimulating conversation and allowing people to arrive at answers on their own and through experience is the best way to form lasting connections.
I took a variety of Biology classes and Labs at WPI mostly focused on Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. I recently finished my PH.D. where I studied control of viral gene expression. This work encompassed a variety of biological disciplines including virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics, all of which I am quite experienced in. I also have experience teaching in a seminar format as well as in small groups. As a senior graduate student I was responsible for leading discussions prior to invited speaker seminars.

My second term of student teaching was in the 3rd grade. Again I succeeded in teaching all subjects to my students. All my students were involved in learning. My greatest year of teaching was at Saint Joseph School. I taught middle school English from 5th grade through 8th grade. All my students were very busy learning their English lessons.
