As a teacher I believe that time shouldn’t just be spent dealing with specific formulas or computations but on understanding the big picture. Spending a little time thinking about the background of a problem can help a student apply what they learn to new situations as they arise. It also gives students a chance to determine if the answer they obtained makes sense in the context of the problem. Coming from the influence of a family of educators, I realized early on my affinity towards teaching. In addition to my college degrees, I have been very involved in the 'summer camp' experience.
