A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored classmates and friends throughout college and after in science and math disciplines. My younger sister struggled in school and I assisted her with all disciplines from grades K-12. I studied Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and got my degree in four years. Classes I took included four semesters of calculus, including multivariable and differential equations, two semesters of physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and several chemical engineering specific classes. I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. I have been tutoring since high school. When I was in high school, I tutored my brother in elementary level math. When I was in college, I tutored students in chemistry and math. I find that the best way to tutor my students is to find out what they are struggling with the most in a subject and then helping them with the basics in that subject.
