I have volunteered as a tutor/mentor/teachers aid, full time, from 1983 through 1989. I returned to college and received my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1993 and passed the CPA exam in 1994, receiving my license to open my own firm in 1999. I continue to coach and mentor my clients in the finer and larger points of accounting.
My "style" is whatever the student needs. Since each level of education has its own complications, and each student has a different learning capability, my approach must be flexible. While studying at SUNY ESF I held a position as a teaching assistant for Western Civilization. This involved grading exams and papers, preparing and giving lectures, and holding office hours to assist students with any questions or concerns they may have had. I also spent time volunteering to teach and after school science club through ESF Outreach for elementary / middle school aged children.
I feel as though every student will have their own niche. They will have a special subject that they enjoy the most and one that they despise.
