I have taught in Dearborn Public Schools for 34 + years, 32 of which were in grades 9-12. I truly enjoy the process of teaching and watching students improve. Lack of confidence is often the cause of low achievement. My comments on tutoring Composition : Rec'd "A", "B"

My method of tutoring is to work with students where they are and add to their skills, to accomplish the final outcome, preferably an "A" or "B." Some students are visual learners and some are informational learners, or some students combine the two. The potential I see in students is what I try to bring out and have them realize they are capable of going a step further, to reach their goal. The importance of education and the students' continuance of same cannot be stressed enough.
I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. My comments on tutoring Composition : I am a certified English and French teacher with 18 years of experience.

I am a certified teacher of French and English; I have taught both subjects at the middle and high school levels for 18 years. In addition, I have 6 years of tutoring experience before becoming a teacher. I have worked with students of all ages, elementary through college. I am one course shy of my Masters' in French. I have worked with inner-city middle school students for more than 10 years, through a program called "Math Corps." (Google it.)

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. My major was English Literature, with a double minor in French Language and Communications.
