A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Sophomore at The University of Central Missouri. I have helped with younger siblings, cousins, and family friends study or work on their homework. Working with children is what I am passionate about and to help them understand something or get a boost in areas needed would make me happy as well as you, knowing your child is now understanding the task at hand.
Teaching in a quiet area is preferred, where there is no distractions so that the student(s) can focus on the task they are trying to accomplish.

I hold a wide variety of experience in both education and industry. I earned degrees in Broadcasting and Speech/Communications. With these, I worked in public relations, advertising, community college teaching and broadcasting. I was a teacher of Speech/Communications at McCook Community College in McCook Nebraska where I taught Speech and Broadcasting. I served on the Executive Council of the Nebraska Speech Communications Association six years. Currently I am the owner of a small vegetable and cattle farm.
My preferred teaching style is discussion with leadership. When the student can relate to the information through own experience or peer experience the information is better absorbed. I have two different teaching styles depending on whether I am in a preschool setting or middle school type setting. I enjoy a very positive an inviting atmosphere where my students are comfortable while creating a community of learners. I have a strong sense of authority that is initially established, coming from such a young age. I do not expect any more from one student than I would another. Difference through learners is the most beneficial way a teacher can bring change in the classroom. I feel that it is essential to teach my students that it is acceptable to agree to disagree.
