LEARN INDIAN VOCAL MUSIC

My teaching schedule is classified in four groups : Voice-Culture Training (10 Min) Indian Notes (Swaras) syllables training (10-15 min), Taal-training or Indian beat/rhythms training Raga-Improvisation (raga introduction, aalap, singing composition and fast improvisation)
I have four years of music teaching experience in India and have been running an Indian music academy in Michigan since two years. I have been performing with several bands in Michigan and had once collaborated with India-Day event in 2012. I often represent lecture-demonstrations in schools with a percussionist Dan Piccolo. I have been performing Ghazal, Bhajan, and semi-classical forms like Thumri and dadra since childhood.

On November the 1st, 2014 Viviana achieved the 3RD PRIZE at the NATS Competition (National Association Teachers of Singing) at the Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan. Viviana received a Certificate of Award, and a prize of 50$. Her experience at the Competition has been described by Viviana, in an article, written for the International Student Office's journal, for the Madonna University Viviana achieved the 3RD PRIZE at Concorso Internazionale Polifonico "Guido d'Arezzo" in Tuscany, Edition 24, singing as Soprano in the Hasta Madrigalis ensemble. I begin by starting a conversation to break the ice. A child cannot beging learning from a stranger. If I can get to know a child better, then I can get a better idea of how they learn, how much information they will absorb, what they will find interesting, and ultimately, this will impact their overall experience with me, with tutoring, and with their desire to continue learning through the venue of tutoring. I feel that if a child has a certain interest in something, then that particular "interest" (perhaps dinosaurs, or Zhu Zhu Pets for example), can be used to enhance their own experience of learning.
