A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently working as a Spanish Interpreter at Friendship Community Care in Russellville, Arkansas, and I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish at Arkansas Tech University, which has enabled me to increase my knowledge of the Spanish language. I am also currenty studying to receive a Master's Degree in English-TESOL option, which is Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (the same as ESL).
Working as a Spanish Interpreter, I work with pre-school aged children. I work with them during their therapy time, especially in Speech Therapy. I enjoy being able to help these young students overcome many obstacles that they are facing. I am very patient with them and considerate of their different needs. Coming from a smaller school, I understand the importance of one on one communication and teaching. Throughout middle and high school I tutored many of my classmates and friends, and continued to do so with whoever needed help during my college career at Ozarka. After taking Writing courses at UCA, I began to see how that one on one quality becomes lost in a larger school, so I began offering help to whoever appeared to need it. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I believe all students are capable of learning the material; it just has to be presented in a way they understand.
I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. I have a strong background in all science courses and maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout college.

A Little Bit About Me...

I studied many different theories of learning while in psychology and fundamentally understand what it means to be a teacher. My teaching style allows the student to learn the material as independently as possible and improve their critical thinking skills, by asking the right type of questions and finding the student's best learning style. I am very patient and am willing to put forth the effort to make sure the student improves during our session.
I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a double major in Psychology and Philosophy. I also received a minor in Interdisciplinary studies through the Honor's College at UCA.
