A Little Bit About Me...

I use note-cards and mnemonics. I'm also fond of repetition (which will allow the student to obviously retain the information) and often do reviews at the end of a session to further examine what said student is struggling with.
So far I have only tutored one student for a year or so. However, I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and hope to make the best of your child's tutoring experience. And despite my inexperience, I am more than capable of tutoring. I also am willing to respect the established rules and wishes that the student's caretakers have placed upon us meeting.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Experience in teaching Kindergarten and First grade Math.

Each child has different learning abilities. Hands on is the best type of teaching.
I got my B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 2004. I am very eager to help children learn. Children are like sponges, they soak up a wealth of information at such a young age. Everyone can learn - it just takes the right presentation!

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. An understanding tutor

The teaching style that I have always promoted is to recognize that everyone learns on a different level and at a different pace. Therefore, a step by step instructor is needed and that instructor has to know how to meet that individual needs based on what they know not what I know. You find alot of college professors teach lessons based on what they know and their experience not realizing that the some students learn at different paces. I experienced this as both an undergraduate and graduate student but I had to go through it or drop the class.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Master Teacher. Texas certified. Highly experienced Math teacher. My third and fifth grade Math students excelled to the top of their grade. Experienced Math teacher for K-8th grades. Math skills are taught along with actual applications, strategy games like chess, and computer games.

My teaching style is more the cooperative, reasonable method that prevents problems. Children need to have lots of praise and rewards for their work and efforts. It promotes growth and encouragement. My students will realize that they have to really pay attention to learn and get it. Their study skills will include organizing, focusing and stretching their thinking to higher levels.
