A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Clemson University graduate with a bachelors international business and trade my minors include German economics and marketing. I have lived overseas in Germany for 4 years and have spent a year studying in Bomberg Germany at the Otto Friedrich University. I'm also capable in the music department play bass guitar for the past 8 years. I I am self talk however I have also learned musical theory and also how to play by ear.

German is one of my top subjects! I have been teaching German for almost 15 years in various venues: College, industrial settings, individual and classes. Business and technical German are additional fields I cover depending on your needs along with German grammar (from scratch to advanced), reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. I offer Intercultural Training designed to help professionals in their respective business settings to better interact with their counterparts and become more efficient communicators according to their interlocutor's culture and background.

Depending on the needs and skills of the students, I will adjust my teaching style. Hence, it can range from being very structured to the loose conversational interaction where I intersperse grammar as needed throughout the instruction. Also, I apply visual and oral methodology with highly interactive elements in all of my lessons, so that the students get exposed to as much real-life situations as possible in grappling with the language. The target language takes center stage from almost the very beginning. During the first few sessions, if students begin from scratch, it will be unavoidable to use English. I have always had a desire to teach and be involved in education. After earning a degree in Broadcasting, I decided to change fields and get into teaching. I earned a CELTA (Certificate in English Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge University in 1999. Upon receiving that certificate I immediately began teaching English to adults. I first worked in an on-site language school environment and then later in a more freelance, corporate environment. After teaching adults for a few years I then began tutoring students in English conversation, grammar, written comprehension and expression and pronunciation.
