My comments on tutoring Physiology : I completed an anatomy and physiology course in preparation for a potential psychology major.

I am a recent college graduate from Ashland University with a degree in communication and French. While at Ashland as well as in high school, I was involved in peer tutoring programs. In high school, I tutored a second year student in French, mainly in grammatical concepts. In terms of mathematics, I was always a strong student in math. I completed algebra and geometry courses throughout high school. I was also a strong student in history. I completed American history courses in high school and college and even analyzed historical documents in one course. I have been playing piano for almost 14 years. I played mostly popular music such as What a Wonderful World, but I also played some classical pieces by Beythoven. I have participated in my teacher's recital since 2000 and have also participated in several talent shows at school and in the community. Finally, I have completed several sci ... read more

I am very interested in teaching and imparting my knowledge to the budding scientists in the field of Biology. I have worked as a teaching assistant and demonstrator for undergraduate students at Durham University, U.K. My main responsibilities involved planning, demonstration of biology practicals to undergraduates and marking assignments. I have also done exam invigilation duties and supervision of final year science students during projects and assisting them in their short dissertation biology research projects both practically and in writing up. As faculty I would also like to develop newer courses and improve their content, enhance research and training in my areas of specialization.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a laid back teaching style, prefer the student to have fun while learning new and interesting things. I prefer the Socratic style.
Have taught many of my peers in a wide variety of subjects including history, science, and math. I also taught Introductory Biology lab course at the University of Dayton. I have also taught in a more informal environment at the Great Lakes Science Center, where I ran science day camps for grades 2-8. Also played varsity football in college, which I would be more than happy to tutor in as well. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2012 where I majored in Biology. Coursework included genetics, evolution, ecology, molecular biology, vertebrate structure and function, physiology, neuroscience, neurophysiology, ancient egyptian culture, human origins, economics, ancient greek and roman history, american history, calculus, and statistics. I was ... read more
