Each encounter with the students is an assessment for me as well as for the student of me. Positive reinforcement is a good way to keep students on point. I believe that each child learn differently, and as such, I have found the best way to teach is to cater to each child's individual learning style. Algebraic concepts and formulas can often be, I have found, analogous to much simpler ideas or images. Once the abstract is related to the mundane, we can break down the barrier to understanding that can be an automatic or habitual construction for many people.
