Ready to love learning

Adaptive. I have a background in experiential education and believe that the method is not as important as the end result of having assimilated, understood, and taught back the information. I believe in creative learning techniques and hope to inspire a love of learning alongside the discipline of learning itself.
I currently work as a substitute teacher at Riverside Military Academy. I've worked with elementary children and teenagers extensively. My most recent position serves twenty and thirty somethings in their personal and spiritual formation. I have published my writing, acted on stage, spoken before thousands and mentored dozens. My personal intent is to explore life, discover new things, tackle hard challenges and inspire others to do the same. I believe in the value of the individual and don't believe one-size-fits-all.

In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. I have taught GRE prep for the past 3 years, covering the verbal, quantitative (math), and analytical writing (essay) areas. As a test prep teacher, I have a close knowledge of students' approach to graduate school, and the process of improving their chances of acceptance to schools of choice. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children require a different method of teaching. My goal is to find the key to help them become motivated in learning. Sometimes children predetermine that they are not good at an individual subject. If you can find a way to make this subject interesting to them you have solved half the problem. I try to discover why the child is having problems in a certain area and solve this first. All children can learn and grow in their education with the right motivation.
