There is little that is more gratifying than seeing a lesson you have been trying to teach someone hit home, especially when it has taken a lot of hard work on both the part of the tutor and the student to get to that point. I am a very hard worker and I am determined to succeed in every task I undertake. I believe that students who are willing to work hard enough are capable of excelling in just about anything. My passion in life is to work with children. I love helping children learn and to see the "light bulb" go off in their head. I love teaching! I didn't realize I did until I began homeschooling my daughter but I do. In fact I plan on beginning my masters in Teaching this fall. I enjoy children and working with them. I have a lot of patience and am very laid back. There is no greater joy than seeing a child's face light up when he/she suddenly "gets it." I feel that no two children learn alike, and am able to adjust to that.
Reading has always been a passion of mine. My father was a historian and an avid reader and he passed along a love of both reading and history to me. I began homeschooling my daughter two years ago, and am instilling that same love of reading in her. I have found that no matter what you do in life, a strong reader will go far. While I believe that all of the subjects taught in school are important it is my belief that reading is the most important one.
