I'm Here to Help!!!

I have often thought about becoming a teacher and have been told by friends, families and previous instructors in my own learning I would make a good one but I feel my personality would be better served in a more laid back and less rigid atmosphere. I am very laid back, amiable and have a strong passion for what I've learned and what I do (the whole aspiring writer thing I mentioned earlier).
I am a twenty eighty year old graduate of the University at Albany where I received my Bachelors in English Lit. in 2011. I have no previous teaching or tutoring experience but that does not mean I lack the knowledge or skill necessary to help one learn and grow. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! A Little Bit About Me...

For writing, usually I conduct some exercises. The level of the critique and what to say depends heavily on the age of the student. For grammar, I would either find or create my own practice materials and we could go over whatever is necessary until I've decided that the student is making improvements or the student has succeeded.
Over the past year, I have tried to extend my ability to share my love and appreciation of English and literature with others.
