A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Master's Degree in Translation of French/Italian/Dutch. After that I got my Italian diploma to teach Italian language and culture. I also have a Belgium teacher's certificate. I've been teaching Italian to adults, which is quiet a challenge. But I also taught French to teenagers ( ages 12-17), which is even more of a challenge. I loved doing it! I also have tutoring experience, I helped a girl prepare for her exams and got her into a program in which she had the opportunity to go to Italy. Italian mothertongue with Master's degree in Italian Studies

Buongiorno! I am an Italian teacher living in Michigan and I enjoy teaching my native tongue in America! I have been teaching Italian since I arrived here. I am currently working for several International Companies in the Metro Detroit area. I have been teaching adult and children classes at a worldwide Italian language and cultural Institute in Birmingham. In addition to this, I teach privately to children and adults. I spent 30 years in Italy, for personal reasons I moved to Michigan last year. I am a native Spanish speaker and I grew up in Spain. I have been teaching Spanish at public schools in Michigan since 2000, from elementary levels to high school levels. I am a very easy-going individual; I don't like to push too much but am encouraging. The way I think teaching Italian works best is to make associations with the English language. The two languages are so heavily intertwined, but not at face value. After learning Italian, my knowledge of English is much more profound. Tutoring is very rewarding to me and making a difference in someone's life is important.
While at Wayne State University, I studied Geography, Urban Studies and the Italian language. When I graduated, I held a BA in Geography with minors in Urban Studies and Italian. During my education at Wayne, as I gained a good knowledge of the Italian language, I started to tutor lower-level students. In the end, I tutored Italian for one and a half years.
