Italian is one of my top subjects! I learned Italian by immersing myself in the language; I lived in Italy for four years total. For my first year in Italy I lived with a host family, I ended up loving it so much that I decided to go to college in Italy and it is there where I got my bachelors degree in languages. I have excellent pronunciation and am fluent and would be a wonderful teacher since I know what it takes to learn Italian starting from zero!

I think it is important to touch on many different aspects of a language when learning it. Listening and speaking in order to put into practice the grammar and vocabulary one has learned is key. It would be best to follow the structure of a book so that the student has something to reflect back on the keep them on track, however if a student doesn't want to use a book, note taking will be sufficient. Also watching movies or tv shows in the language that one is studying will help to improve listening comprehension.

I am still a senior in High School, but I have studies Italian for three years and during my junior year I lived in Italy for nine months, attending Liceo Classico e Linguistico Ruggero Settimo. I took the AP italian exam, receiving a 5, and I am currently the assistant to my Italian teacher.
