I went into teaching because I enjoy working with children. I do not think of teaching as a job. It is very rewarding to me that I can help children understand complicated material. I make things simple and use things that they already know to build on to get them to understand the material. I like to teach the children pneumatic devices to help them remember the material1. I continued my undergraduate work at Utica College of Syracuse University and I earned a BS in Chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

Once I am assigned a child I initally spend time going over a typical homework assignment to see where they are having some trouble. I get them to read out loud to me to see what their level of reading is. Some kids have problems sounding out the words or with simple rules of grammar. Once I see where they are at then I start bringing in some workbooks to help them in that particular area and apply that to their homework.

My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology.
