A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved working with children and helping them grow as a person. I am patient, passionate and enthusiastic when helping children. I actively engage each student through the use of manipulatives, technology and fun hands on learning activities to fit each student’s individual needs. As a graduate of Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, I have been blessed to work with students of all grade levels. I received my BA in Elementary Education grades K-6. Having a degree in elementary education has really helped me expand my knowledge in all subject areas. I have graduated from Canisius College with a Master degree in Education. I am currently on track to have NYS initial certification by February. My student teaching was conducted at Hamburg Middle School and Lackawanna High School in 9th grade social studies and 7th grade American history. I have extensive experience in writing through my schooling and in my work experience in journalism, which required a high degree of literacy.
My teaching style is centered around student activity. Students must be able to fully understand the objectives of the lesson and be able to construct the meaning of the lesson on their own. All steps should be modeled and structured for clarity.
