I started my tutoring experience in the math Lab at AUM when they stared up and continued until till I gratuated. I then started tutoring with the Learning center at AUM for several years. My job at Trenholm occasionaly required me to tutor more than one person. I emplement many differnt teaching stragies depending on the students needs. I truly enjoy teaching math and enjoy watching the 'click' when a student begins to understand the concepts. I believe many students have been erroneously convinced that "they don't get math" or that math is too hard. During high school, my teacher requested that I help others in my class and I realized how much I loved helping others understand how accounting works. Also in helping my children with their school work, I have learned that each child is different and learns in different ways. I would describe my style of teaching as finding out how a particular student learns best and work form that foundation. Some learn better by seeing an example and then working it out on their own with someone to consult if they get stuck. Other learn better with what they hear and others what they read.
