A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught elementary school in private and public settings, in both New York City and Florida. I taught high school English and Global Studies in New York city. I have worked as a tutor in general subjects for elementary students, as well as for Reading, Language, and Biology for high school anc dollege students. I have also helped prepare adult students for the TABE, GED, and similar tests.
I prefer to teach in a hands on fashion, but the most important aspect of my style is to adjust my methods to meet the needs of the student. I incorporate study and test taking skills into most tutoring sessions and specialize in tips and tricks for areas of difficulty.

I enjoy working with students and seeing the smiles on their faces when that light bulb comes on. We all have it. Sometimes it takes to know that the person teaching you really cares to see you learn. I consider myself to be patient but firm. I like for my students to know that anything worth having has to be worked for or earned. Education is the same way. A Little Bit About Me...

As a youth I desired to become a teacher. I come from a long line of classroom teachers. My mother is a teacher, my grandfather was a professor at the University of Florida, and both great-grandmothers were educators as well. I have experience working with children since in high school where I worked summer camps, in college working with after school programs and tutoring those students, to graduating college and implementing teaching strategies in my own classroom. I have worked with a variety of ages since recieving my BS degree in elementary education. I worked half a year as a high school intensive reading teacher helping struggling students gain confidence in reading. Florida Writes is designed to measure students' proficiency in writing responses to assigned topics within a designated testing period. Find your tutor now. Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible.
