Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. My tutoring style depends on whether the child learns better with visual aids or by other means. I also assess their weaknesses and determine if it is caused by lack of comprehension,fear of the subject matter or a lack of preparation.
Since acheiving my first accounting designation from the UK in 1991 I have taught accounting and Business Law to adults until 1998 when I migrated to the US. While here I was succesful in passing my CPA exams and I am now a member in good stabding with AICPA and Delaware Society of CPAs.
