As a graduate I have done tutoring to enhance my credibility to teach possibly in the future with my major in criminal justice. I'm currently enrolled for my Masters in criminal justice and criminology, and I plan to futher my education to teach within that field. I believe in the power of positive teaching. I think that most students live up to or down to your expectations. If you expect them to do well, they frequently do. Sometimes all that is needed is for teachers and other persons whose opinions matter to exhibit faith in the student's ability. But it is also often necessary to help them identify what doesn't work and find new approaches that will. Writing is a skill that is crucial to academic success in college; students must excel in writing to do well in an academic environment.
