During my travels through school i have had my fair share of peer study groups to help with the learning of the material to pass classes. I have also helped allot of my peers with understanding as well. I remember being a student in Elementary School struggling to understand a particular concept and then imagining myself explaining this concept to others once I achieved understanding. As a college student, I enjoyed helping others and began working in the tutoring center at Merced College. After I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, I worked both at the tutoring center and for a state program that placed me in one of the local high schools to work with groups of seniors with low math scores in order to help improve their SAT scores. After graduation, I was hired as a substitute teacher. However, the classroom setting was not as enjoyable as tutoring. Shortly afterwards, I moved to NYC and while there took several classes in business. Currently as a student in merced college, I am pursuing my degree in chemical engineering, which has enable me to take courses heavily in math and science courses.
