While attending Texas Tech University I was employed by the Marsha Sharp Center for Student Athletes as a tutor and worked with athletes in the following subject areas: English, Spanish, Art History, History, and Political Science. I was also a summer school teacher for a non-profit organization called Shalom Readers and led a classroom of children between 6 and 8 years of age. I was responsible for planning Christian based games and learning activities for them as well as providing them with coursework that covered all basic subject areas. I graduated from Texas Tech cum laude with a degree in English and a double minor in Spanish and Electronic Media and Communications. A Little Bit About Me...

Normally I will watch as the student works and when they get stuck is when I would help them. If they do not understand the material I will go back and teach it again. Once they seem to get it I would give one or two practice problems just to be sure they understand completely. I have no issues with repeating things multiple times if it means furthering the child's knowledge.
I have only ever tutored my neighbors two daughters. They both benefitted from it and both of the girls grades went up. Most of the time I would help them with math ,but would also help in any subject they needed, and they would work on their homework as I watched and guided them in the correct direction. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I taught 6th and 8th grade Language Arts.

I have been teaching for five years. My first year teaching, I worked at a private Christian school in NY where I taught History, Science, and Math. I have since taught in Orange County Public Schools at the middle and high school levels.
