I have many years of experience working with young children learning English as a second language. I know how to use literature, music, movement, hands-on activities, visuals to provide vocabulary instruction. I taught kindergarten in public school for twenty years. I am currently teaching in a private school setting. I teach a voluntary preschool class (VPK). In this role I help prepare my students so that they have the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten. These skills are not just academic skills. These skills also include having an ability to function in a large group, get along with peers, and persevere in a task until completion. I believe a classroom for young children should provide a warm, accepting, and challenging environment.

I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. I've tutored a few younger kids in various subjects in my high school years, as well as occasionally teaching Taekwondo classes. My teaching style is flexible, tailored to the specific needs of the student in question. Everybody learns differently and at different paces!
