Teaching requires empathy for the learner's situation above all other things. This means looking at things from the student's perspective and communicating effectively with the student to determine where help is needed and how to provide it. Learning is most effective when the student is respected and is provided the appropriate means for that individual to discover and absorb the subject matter.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching at the Community College. I have students that range in age from 17 years old to 55 years old. I am enjoying teaching very much and would like to add to the teaching I do. I also taught for one year at the Tri City Christian Academy in Somersworth, NH. In that class I had students ranging in age from 11 years old to 18 years old. I have a BA in French from the University of Southern Maine. I am currently finishing my Master of Arts in Teaching French through the University of Maine. I have a BA and a MA in Sociology and attended Dartmouth as a part of my MA. Although my primary interests are education, criminology and issues related to adolescents, I am a well-rounded sociologist with relevant theoretical and methodological competences.
