Earth Science is one of my top subjects! Received a bachelors of science degree in Environmental Resource Management from Penn State University. This type major encompasses all aspects of science ranging from chemistry to physics to biology in order to understand the world and environment around us.

I prefer to keep students excited about what they are supposed to be learning. There are five different learning styles that teachers teach and students learn. I try to include all five of these styles into teaching. Although everyone has their dominant learning style, I feel it is important for students to think outside of the box and try new things. For example, some people may learn through discussion, while others may need to see pictures or presentations of the subject matter. I like to identify how the person learns first through questions, or by testing them with a simple task first to identify the method which seems to work best for them. Many of the things in life that we don't "get" are things we don't understand. When teaching, I try to break things down and simplify them so they can be easily understood. Often the kids in my class are those who do not like to be challenged, so I incorporate a lot of questions to provoke thinking and problem solving on their own. Since repetition is a key component to learning, I review a lot which requires patience but pays great dividends in the long run.
