I love teaching holistically. I belive strongly in differentiation, not everyone learns the same way. I am currently employed by the State of North Carolina as a Youth Counselor where I have extensive experience with students with diagnosises such as ADD,ADHD and ODD. A Little Bit About Me...

As a mother of three teenagers, i decided to go back to school and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a high school English teacher. I could not imagine myself doing anything but helping young minds grow to their fullest potential. I am highly qualified in the area of writing. My 10th grade students have an 85% proficiency rating for the NC writing assessment. I also teach Graduation Project that requires an 8-10 page documented research paper. My skills in these areas will prove highly useful in a tutoring capacity.
Being a mother of teenagers gives me an edge as a teacher. I have tremendous patience and understanding of the daily lives of young people. I try to make my students feel comfortable and safe in my classroom, if a student does not feel comfortable, they will find it hard to open up to a learning environment. My philosophy is learning does not have to be painful.
