In high school I was able to tutor students in all subjects ranging from English to Math to Musical Studies. Furthering my education at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX really opened my eyes and mind to wider ranges of educational foundations. I received my B.S. in physics and went on to work at a Community College tutoring math. I enjoyed this work immensely and received excellent reviews from the students. While working at the college I also tutored middle school and high school students privately. In High School I took a class on Society and the Child which involved tutoring english and math two days a week for a fourth grade class. I plan on returning to school in 2010 to obtain a Masters in Secondary Educaton, with my focus on Math and Science Education.

Teaching students is a passion and an art. I approach each situation by trying to understand what stress factors are experienced by the students, as well as how they need to be approached to learn. Some students need to have a direct approach, others need to try on their own and then step by step correct their mistakes to both build up confidence for doing well and understand where they went wrong. I find teaching to be an extremely rewarding activity. I immensely enjoy the process of finding the best ways to reach a particular child, especially one who is struggling with a given subject or concept.
