I encourage students to question problem solving methods in order to understand the fundamentals. After an explanation of the material I often follow up with several example problems to help students test their mastery of the subject. I do not emphasize memorizing equations, because students do not learn about the physical phenomena by memorization. I have recently graduated from UCLA in June with a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. I have been tutoring my peers and students younger than me throughout my entire high school and college education, mostly in subjects related to math and science.
