I have just earned my TESOL certification and am looking forward to beginning teaching English. I have spent a majority of my life teaching in one form or another. My elementary school, Hamen Elementary, had a program in which good students could tutor mentally challenged students. I did that for three years. I also spent 8 years teaching martial arts and three years teaching dog training. I am also responsible for the majority of my younger brother's education. He is special needs and got expelled from kindergarten. He has since graduated. So I have a great deal of experience teaching students of all levels and abilities.
I'm pretty laid back. I like my students to make effort and hope to add a little fun in there but for the most part I expect my students to learn at their own pace and it doesn't matter how fast they move but they have to make effort.

I have served in the educational setting for over 11 years. I have a vast background in special education and have worked with all kinds of disabilities and behavioral issues. I am quick to adapt lessons to fit students’ individual needs and to present the materials in their learning style. I am confident in teaching a variety of subjects at a variety of levels. I am currently working for Kaplan K-12 in their CAHSEE Prep program both as a teacher and site coordinator.
