World History is one of my top subjects! History Minor at Salisbury University. Loved History through out all of my years of schooling. Big History Buff.

I believe we can only help those who wish to help themselves. My teaching style is pretty straight forward - to make the child/teenager want to learn. Make the subject matter interesting to them and approach it from their perspective. If you motivate them to make the effort the rest will happen naturally.
I graduated from Washington High in 2006 with my High School Diploma. From there I went to Worwic Community College part time while working full time to pursue an Associates of the Arts in General Studies. This degree was completed in 2010. After that I moved on to Salisbury University to pursue a Bachelor's Degree with a dual major in History and Psychology with Minors in Philosophy and Women's Studies. As a graduate I have done tutoring to enhance my credibility to teach possibly in the future with my major in criminal justice. I'm currently enrolled for my Masters in criminal justice and criminology, and I plan to futher my education to teach within that field. During the last past 3 summers I have tutored young children as well as been a mentor to their studies. I enjoy working in this field of study, and plan to continue to do so.

I believe in the power of positive teaching. I think that most students live up to or down to your expectations. If you expect them to do well, they frequently do. Sometimes all that is needed is for teachers and other persons whose opinions matter to exhibit faith in the student's ability. But it is also often necessary to help them identify what doesn't work and find new approaches that will. Writing is a skill that is crucial to academic success in college; students must excel in writing to do well in an academic environment. Writing is also a useful skill when it comes to thinking and to organizing one's thoughts. I am most comfortable with tutoring students who are preparing for college.
