French is one of my top subjects! I have studied French for 10 years now and lived in France a year ago. I lived about 2 hours southwest of Paris and went to a wonderful international university for students studying French. There were students from 25 different countries in my program and I lived with a host family, so I was always speaking French. I am not teacher certified yet, but I have taken all of the required French classes. I have one teaching class left and a semester of student teaching and then I will be a certified French teacher for grades K-12. Last year I tutored a high school freshman and a high school senior in French. This year, I also occasionally tutor and review French with an elderly lady.

I will be certified to teach K-12. I believe that the earlier one starts learning a language, the easier it will be for them and the quicker they will learn. While I have recently tutored older students, I have observed and helped teach foreign language classes of all ages.
I am originally from Bloomington, Illinois and am studying French and Spanish Education at Illinois State University. I am in my fifth year right now since I have two teaching majors. I will graduate in May 2014. Since my Junior year of high school, I knew that I wanted to teach French. A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy helping children reach their full potential. I believe that children who don't understand a subject just haven't had it explained to them in their way of learning and I believe I can find their way. I use patience, understanding, and humor to ease their minds but still am able to convey a sense of high expectation of them. Then, I explain concepts to them in a variety of ways until they can comprehend the subject manner. This includes using diagrams, creating a real-life situations where the concept is applied, drawing analogies that to which they can relate, or developing a game out of the lesson. In the end, it is their success that is my true reward.
