I have been teaching in Chico, California for the past 26 years. I have experience with grades K-6, but really prefer 2-5th grades. I have tutored for many years, helping struggling students catch up with their peers. I have many tricks and resources to use. I have laptops and curriculum, not to mention a in-depth knowledge of state standards. I know what the children will be expected to accomplish on Common Core Standardized Tests. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an elementary school teacher for nearly 18 years. I taught for 7 years in Elk Creek and 10 years in Los Molinos where I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999. From 1992 to 1996 I trained in study skills for the History and Geology departments at Chico State through the Equity Services Office. This included a 3 hour training session each week in addition to tutoring individually and in groups for struggling college students. This was 4 of the greatest years ever! This University training really helped prepare me for the world of teaching and tutoring.
