A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored at the college level for three years, mainly because I enjoy doing so. I take pride in helping others understand concepts and do better in school. I'm very easy going during tutoring sessions, and open to students asking questions until they understand the information. I take multiple approaches to explaining concepts if students don't understand them at first. I also have experience working with high school and middle school students, as I have volunteered at such schools, but from a recreational standpoint. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a major in Chemistry and minor in Biology. I have volunteered at homework centers at a couple libraries in Minnesota. Also I volunteered at a Multicultural School to help new immigrant children learn english and assist them in preparing for the GED exam. One summer I worked at a science camp to organize and coordinate fun and interesting science workshops for young children.
I enjoy working with children and sharing the joy of learning with them. Children are by nature are very inquisitive. I strive to bring out the best in them by making learning a fun experience. I enjoy helping others achieve their goals. I am a very optimistic person and try to focus on peoples strengths. Through my teaching experience I have found it necessary to differentiate my teaching styles in order to be an effective teacher. My teaching methods are flexible, as different students require different strategies to be successful. While tutoring, I prefer working through example problems to demonstrate the meaning and application of various concepts.
