More About This Tutor...

I have worked with students in all levels of elementary school through teaching as well as during my college year. Specifically I have been in classrooms of pre-k, kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. I find the enthusiasm and thinking of students in upper levels very intriguing. I graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary Education in 2007. Upon graduating I have been in elementary classrooms as a teacher for three years. I enjoy working with children one on one. Allowing me to better understand their reasoning and thinking.
In my experiences I have found that children learn in many different ways. Based on this I feel that individualized attention to each student makes them more successful in school, as well as, in many life experiences. Children learn by doing. I am a recent graduate with a Master of Science in Environmental Studies with a Conservation Biology concentration. This education has required that I become acquainted with a wide variety of subjects including mathematics and the natural sciences. This also entails having a high level of written and oral communication skills needed to bridge the gap between science, law, and policy. I have worked in the college setting as a community service coordinator and collaborated with several faculty to incorporate community service into their classroom curriculum in a wide variety of subjects.
