I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. My classroom always has many things going on at once, which is a direct result of the student driven learning and presenting.

I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education from Houghton College. My education has prepared me to be an outstanding educator. Music covers many subjects, including basic math and the knowledge of various cultures throughout the world. Music is a very hands-on activity, and can be used as a great memorization technique.
