Biology is one of my top subjects!

I have worked as a tutor for 5 years. I worked as a volunteer peer tutor at my high school throughout my time there and fell in love with it. I am now a freshman at Saint Louis University majoring in biology on a pre-medical track. I have tutored in a variety of subjects ranging from biology, zoology, algebra 1, algebra 2 and chemistry to english and composition.
I am a huge supporter students tutoring students. I have found that working with students helps to take down a barrier between the tutor and tutee. Students are more comfortable to work with peers than an authority. My first priority is to listen, listen to what the tutee is looking to get out of the experience. When I tutor I try and understand where they are having trouble and try to find the best way of explaining in a way that is beneficial to the student.
While at Springfield College I started tutoring some of my fellow students in the areas of math and science for a little extra cash. I have always wanted to mimic the kind of tutoring I received as a struggling math student in middle school. I was never the best at math until I started to receive tutoring and everything started to click. The extra help I got in math was essential to my studies at the university level and all my previous coursework leading up. I want to be that tutor who helped everything click.

A Little Bit About Me...

I would love to teach students and help them find easy ways to memorize and develop interest in science subject.I have myself interest in Biology and beleive education is a gift of God which increases as moch as we share it.I would like to increase my knowledge by sharing what I have learned so far academically.
I am a Dentist but was teaching 4 years ago in the same college right after I myself graduated from it in India. After earning my BS in zoology with a minor in psychology, I worked as an educator at a local zoo working with elementary aged children. This was my first experience teaching and I soon realized how fun and rewarding educating could be. I continued my education to achieve my MS in behavior, ecology, and evolution. A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy helping children reach their full potential. I believe that children who don't understand a subject just haven't had it explained to them in their way of learning and I believe I can find their way. I use patience, understanding, and humor to ease their minds but still am able to convey a sense of high expectation of them. Then, I explain concepts to them in a variety of ways until they can comprehend the subject manner. This includes using diagrams, creating a real-life situations where the concept is applied, drawing analogies that to which they can relate, or developing a game out of the lesson.
