My teaching style is fun and engaging. You must find what engages a student. Everyone has a different learning style. My teaching style utilizes any and all manipulatives necessary to engage a student. I also review student data to determine what learning gaps exist.
I have eighteen years of experience: ten at the missle school level, and eight at the high school level. I believe that an effective teacher sees him/herself as a guide on a path to discovery, not just a lecturer. When I teach, I like to start by asking strategic questions. These questions help the student focus on the subject and help me find out what they already know. From there, I can guide them through an investigation of the subject by continuing a logical sequence of questions. When we reach a point where the student can not answer my questions, I stop asking and start explaining. By then, the student is focused, interested, and ready to hear what I have to say.
