Drawing is one of my top subjects! Drawing has been - and will continue to be - my lifelong passion. I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2010 with an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts, and I am highly experienced in various types of media. I am also an experienced tutor, and I have a great desire to share what I have learned with others.

I have been drawing my entire life, and have successfully completed numerous high school- and college-level art courses pertaining to my major in Fine Arts. My comments on tutoring Drawing : Advanced Placement art, Junior and Senior year, with a 5 on both portfolios. Continued in art clubs while at the University of Michigan, although I was accepted to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I opted to "go blue!" for a liberal arts education. Art continued to be my life, and as soon as I was hired at Blackboard Inc. in 2003, I taught myself the entire Adobe Creative Suite, and have been a graphic designer for 10 years. As well as multi-media artist, and tutor/instructor.

I adjust to the learner and speak their language, establish rapport through mutual respect, and try and make it as fun as possible.
While I was a Rotary Exchange Student – South Africa | 1999-2000, I volunteered to tutor students of various ages every subject, except Afrikaans, and was very pleased with their progress, and enjoyed it. Everyone is an artist.

I have been teaching for the past two years in the art field and related. I taught at TIC Summer camp in the summer of 2012 how to use the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.). I am currently working with an after school program that teaches children between the ages of 6 and 12 what goes behind videogame creation.
I use a personalized and 'hands-off'/demonstration style of teaching. I dislike telling a student that there is a certain method they should use, instead preferring to suggest and show how I would approach a problem or get them to approach a problem differently than how they are at that moment.

I am a 17 year old female who has so much talent to share with the people around me. I'm apart of a community service club, I play a variety of instruments, and from my experiences I've gained a lot of wisdom. I may not be certified with a piece of paper to show, but who said that in order to spread knowledge you had to have graduated and attended college? All in all I aim to please and I give 100% because 99 1/2 won't do.
