My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced math in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. NYU business school looking to tutor.

I have tutored informally throughout high school and college, both my fellow peers and lower income students. I was part of an ESL mentoring high school program during my time in New York. During my time at college, I created a mentoring committee for underclassman that focused on business related items and school curriculum. As I spent most of my time in groups studying, I learned that I was very good at explaining principles and material, regardless of subject matter.

Your ability to learn material will be greatly increased by exposure to critical decision making steps as you work problems. I will guide students to these steps as efficiently as possible and wait for a rigorous effort from the student. This will result in either a correct approach or an inappropriate or incorrect approach.
